Each and every one of us have our own belief system, we all make mistakes ( and hopefully we learn from them), we all have flaws and throughout our lives we all make different life choices ( some good and some bad), life is never easy and is frought with danger,......FACT.
Now, i like so many others have made mistakes ( and i have learned from them), however there are many lessons i am still learning even at the age of forty three, changes in my life occur everyday,..........HOWEVER regardless of my age i refuse to live my life by a pathetic rule book set out society today.
I have always lived life my own way, ( i was not put on this earth to be liked), my views are staunch and very often brutal, i will not bow down to those who believe that because of the way i dress, my live and let outlook on life as a whole or my now very free-spirited attitude choose to point their fingers & spread malicious gossip.
I have a very real problem with a society which in truth is not only flawed but also now very sick, ( even television in far too many cases portray portray women in a certain way),......for instance why is it that whether it be on the television, in the newspapers or magazines it seems to have become the \' GIVEN \' that women in certain age ranges should dress a certain way?
Why is it that simply because a woman is a wife and mother she HAS to behave and dress in a certain manner?
The days have long since passed when a woman had to take her place BEHIND her husband, ( partner, fiancee ) etc, REAL women, MUST be treated as what ( who), they ARE, .....individuals in their own right.
It has taken me many years to finally find the REAL ME and not someone else\'s ideal, the clothes i choose to wear are MY business and have NOTHING to do with ANYONE else, ( i choose classy over the PATHETIC views of the fashion world), .........HOWEVER i also choose sexy and sassy because just because i am the age i am does NOT mean that i have to now start dressing like my mother.
I have lost weight because i have CHOSEN to do so NOT because some PATHETIC female celebrities now endorse being a size zero, ( this is in TRUTH something that is sick and seriously unhealthy),........i\'m a woman, an individual in my own right, not some dull, insipid personality who leads her life by a rule book written by a seriously flawed, sick society,......a book that does not even exist.
As a mother i encourage my children to ALWAYS but ALWAYS be themselves, to NEVER follow the crowd, to believe in themselves, dress in a way that makes them happy and therefore comfortable in their own skin.
I like far too many others have lived through ( and with ) lies, have been seen to be the one in the wrong ( when the opposite was true), been TOLD how to behave, HOW to dress, when and when not to speak,.........well it may have taken years, physical and verbal abuse, lies, hypocrisy and contradiction but now i have a voice and i REFUSE to be silenced.

I am 41 years of age, the mother of three children who are aged 19, 16 & 13 years of age. I am married for the second time, i am an avid music lover, i love to read as well as write poems & short stories, ( i also enjoy topical novels). I am along with my children a survivor of domestic-violence & abuse, ( the poetry i tend to write is inspired by events in our lives as well as being biographical).
