The root cause of the most problems in the world is the current way of thinking of humanity; or more specifically, ego thinking, the lower ego, which is separateness-oriented. On multiple levels - individual, group, organization or state, etc. - the main ego illusion is separateness. The ego thinking is driven by fear and seeing the remaining separated world as danger, as the problem of not having enough. The ego thinking loves to create enemies and wars as a means to acquiring security; but, this approach is an illusion. The more security the world requires the more insecure the world becomes. The ego thinking can\'t understand that when it identifies the others as enemies or the cause of not having enough, insufficiency and problems are created from the ego itself, being it individual or collective ego.
About the Author
Ego dwells on reductionism or reduces phenomena into smaller elements and the sum of parts is quite literally the whole. Contrary to ego thinking, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The dysfunction of ego thinking is that it endlessly craves for more stuff at expense of the others and the rest of the world. But a long-term, sustainable and complex system cannot function nor be sustainable if one or several elements develop on the expense of the other elements. The scientific discoveries imply more and more that the interconnectedness is an inescapable conclusion of every system in the grand universe. Interconnectedness is designed deeply in every layer of the universe from micro-subatomic systems to those macro-cosmic ones. The universe\'s design is based on the reiteration principle: The models of outer layers are simply reproduced from repetition of the same models of the fundamental levels; the same patterns are reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, from the largest scale all the way down to the smallest scale. This means that what is valid on the deeper layers is valid on the superficial or newer layers as well. This is why some principles are universal on every layer such as on subatomic, atomic, chemical, biological, societal level, etc.
The ego thinking begins in the human mind and is reflected in every civilized human-developed system, including the social, cultural, and economic systems. The ego thinking is not ecological and as such violates the principle of wholeness. Whenever the ego thinking-derived systems develop at a certain level there follows a crisis, because these systems are violating the universal principles.
Even the whole universe has an ego to expand as much as possible. This can be called the outer purpose of universe. Scientists have even proved that the universe is expanding and accelerating. This accelerating is reflected in all its beings including humans, which are creatively creating more intensively in their lives. The humans also are expanding, as they are the projection of macrocosm to microcosm or the individual aspect of universe. There is nothing wrong with the outer purpose of universe and of people dwelling in it. People can create whatever they desire infinitely; there is no end to the creation process, but the outer purpose must align with the inner purpose. If they are not in alignment on a cosmic level then the universe contracts, on planetary level then cataclysmic events may follow, and on lower levels then crises of any kind occur to bring the creation back to the point where the misalignment began. The inner purpose is the purpose of being connected with the wholeness. This means helping others, the nature, the earth, as integral aspects of the wholeness, and simply abandoning the ego thinking.
The economic system of the world is ego thinking-oriented. This can easily be seen in the distribution of wealth around the world. Some countries are very wealthy and some others very poor. People who live in luxury and others who live in poverty and misery. It is important to mention that there is nothing to do with altruism. There is just a violation of the immutable principle of wholeness. Moreover, the competition in today\'s market economy is misunderstood: It is not the competition for offering the goods and services to people but contrary, it is the competition for earning money in and of itself at the expense of people, animals, plants, and environment. In today\'s monetary-based economy the primary purpose is earning money; this primary purpose directly violates the principle of wholeness.
The great masters have taught that the universe is not a place of war. War originates in human thinking and then it is reflected in the self-contradicted systems. Whenever a misalignment happens on an individual, a spiritual crisis follows. Whenever a misalignment happens in a society, then societal or economic crisis follows. If we aim to fight these problems from the outer purpose perspective, the war never will be won. We have to adjust our old way of thinking and shift to the spiritual way of thinking.
According to the principle of wholeness everything we encounter is an important part of the system. Humans, animals, plants, bacteria, viruses, etc., all are part of the whole and must be in harmony. All of the elements have their important roles in sustaining the whole system. For instance, the more we fight bacteria and viruses the more they mutate and more dangerous they become. The universe embodies many protection mechanisms on every level against the ego thinking. The protection mechanism on individual and societal level aims the way of thinking to be in alignment with the laws of universe.
On an individual level the mechanism manifests as healing crises or so-called 'diseases'. The mind and body of the human are interconnected below the quantum level where the causality does not exist. Body affect mind and simultaneously mind affect body. Toxic mind brings the toxic body and vice versa. Suppressing 'negative' thoughts and feelings due to ego expectations is a main cause of toxic mind. Our society cultivates the emotional repression which in turn creates neural toxicity in mind. For instance the depression is the anger turned inward. As mind and body are interconnected then the toxic mind results in toxic body or disease. When the toxicity of mind becomes unbearable then the intelligence of mind-body unity (below quantum level) initiates the detoxification process of both the body and the mind. Thus the strong ego is a form of mind toxicity. The lifestyle of self-loving, acceptance or non-resistance helps in relieving and recovering from mind-toxic crisis. Based on this ground, spiritual awakening represents an intensive detoxification process of repressive mechanisms of the ego. People who abuse alcohol and drugs know instinctively that by destroying their body they destroy simultaneously their mind toxicity. The drugs themselves are not addictive, but the toxicity in abusers\' minds developed in childhood or during life is addictive.
On societal level the mechanism of protection manifests as social and economic crises. After every crisis a new form must emerge; sustainability of the new form depends on the alignment-ness with the inner purpose.
The ancient Atlantis is believed to have taken technology to very advanced stages, well beyond what exists on our planet today. Atlantis\' humanity had reached an extraordinary level of understanding of the real nature of universe, and a tremendous capacity to influence laws of nature even with mind power. But Atlantis was destroyed; its humanity couldn\'t prevent the disaster because the quest for power and manipulation overrode the quest for truth. The only real protection for the humanity is the power of truth.
The today optimism is that a new or spiritual way of thinking is emerging. The new or spiritual way of thinking on individual level is the most important thing; the other things, including derived systems, are just details.Enkeled Kanaj
