Jelly Roll Morton was an outstanding piano player. He was also a composer and also a bandleader. When morton was 14 he lived with his uncle because his mother died.
Morton began playing when he was young. He started his career in the state of California. In California morton made a lot of money gambling but did not make much money playing music. From California Morton moved to Memphis, here Morton started a band called The Red Hot Peppers. The Peppers made a lot of money and distributed many albums. From that point Morton did pretty much nothing but play music. In 1940 Morton went back to California believing that his mother buried jewels around her house before she died. When he got to California in 1940 he was hospitalized and died in a nearby LA hospital not to many months longer.
